President’s letter July 2009

WOW !! that’s all I have to say about the month of June. It has been non-stop from the first day on the month. Starting off with the Marina swap meet( John thank you for the company ) in Monterey on the 6th, then Graduation at the High School I coach at. Then Grad. Partys and Birthdays on the 13th. PA Concours Judges clinic on the 14th, Awards assembly on the 16th, then the World Famous VMOA Car Show on the 20th, followed by the Woodies on the Wharf in Santa Cruz on the 27th and the finale with Palo Alto Concours on the 28th. It was great to see so many people at the VMOA car show, given the present economy, the turn out was fantastic. Everything at the show went flawlessly. I want to thank Tom and Neal for executing another great show. And thanks to all the VOLUNTEERS who spent a lot of their time getting this show to run so smoothly.

Also a big thank you to John & Sally O’Toole for their time and devotion to this club, their contributions are very much appreciated. Thank you to Rick and Myron for arranging the parking lot and managing the volunteers. I could write for days thanking a lot of people for the operation of the car show, but I will do that in person at the General Meeting Friday. The next big event was the Palo Alto Concours at Stanford. That was another well executed show. Very few problems occurred. Well maybe one unhappy Mustang owner. The number of Concours Mustangs was overwhelming, what a GREAT turnout of beautiful cars. The Mustangs rivaled the other Marque car of Porsche. For all of you that entered cars on the Field and the Corral give yourself a pat on the back, Job well done. I would like to thank Walt for all of his work arranging Judges for this event. I know we have been working a long time with the P.A. committee and the show was the end result. And thank you Al and Jenny for inviting our club and other Mustang clubs to attend this very prestigious car show. The last car show I would have ever expected to see my Mustang at would be a Concours ..... who would of thunk ?

Respectfully submitted Steve Chapman – President VMOA
