From The Presidents Desk
President’s letter August 2009
Is it me or are the retail stores starting the seasons a little earlier every year. I was in Walgreen’s the other day and you see the usual merchandise on the shelves for this time of the year. Like back to school stuff. One whole aisle of pencils, paper, binders you name it, anything you need to start school off right. Then you turn around and look at the other side of the aisle and you see Halloween candy, WHAT, HALLOWEEN CANDY! What the heck are these stores thinking? I know the economy is bad, but I think this might be a little over the top. It seems like every year department stores try and get a jump on the next holiday. I think they're starting to take after the car manufacturers by introducing a new car two years ahead of the actual year of the car. I see that Ford was displaying their new 2011 Fiesta at Hot San Jose Nights which Ford is claiming to arrive in the USA early 2010. Why can’t they just call it a 2010, why do they do this. Just so you can say I own a 2011 car in 2010, WOW. Well I think I will go out early next year and buy a new Fiesta, and then stop by Walgreen’s and pick-up some Halloween candy and be ready for Halloween in July. Can never be too Prepared
