President’s Letter March 2010
Well I think Canada can finally exhale now that the the hockey team won GOLD. It was a lot closer than I think Canada wanted it to be, but I have to hand it to team USA, they were the youngest team at the Olympics. They weren’t even supposed to be ranked.
They ended up being seated #1. Going undefended in there group. But when the USA tied the game with 20 seconds left in the 3rd period, all 3 million residents in Canada had a heart attack. It only took Team Canada 2 or 3 minutes in the overtime period to take the residents of Canada off life support with the winning goal. I have mixed feelings when it comes to the Gold metal game. I really wanted the USA to win, but when you have 4 players on team Canada that also play for the San Jose Sharks. I thought if Canada loses this game, all of Canada would have converged open Vancouver and would have take the whole team out and broken their sticks. It would not have been pretty. But on the other hand if team Canada wins the gold, all four players come back to the Sharks and continue their winning ways and go on to win the Holy Grail of hockey The Stanley Cup. I think San Jose is deffintly overdue for a Professional Championship. As you can tell, I am a big hockey fan and big Olympics fan. The past two weeks have been very enjoyable TV.
