What is the website for the club?
What kind of mustang do I need to join?
The Vintage Mustang Owners Association (VMOA) was founded in August 1977 to provide a focal point for Mustang owners who wished to further their enjoyment of ownership. The club welcomes all Mustangs up to and including the current model year of production. Your interest in Mustangs is the most important thing, not the condition of your car. As a matter of fact it’s ok if you don’t own a Mustang yet. Club members keep current on the latest Mustang information and participate in numerous fun events all year.
What if I don’t have a mustang?
That’s okay! One of the ways to find out what kind of mustang is best for you is to be a part of the club and learn more about the different levels of ownership. For example, you may want to build your own mustang, modify an existing one, or restore one to original and/or show quality. Perhaps you want a brand new mustang that you can just drive and go! Members can benefit from the experiences of other club members and can keep their eyes and ears open for mustangs coming up for sale.
What kinds of people are in the club?
People of all ages and backgrounds love the mustang. It’s not a club only for gear heads. The club does many family-friendly events.
Do you have car shows and if so when?
The club typically has one major car show per year. Lately it has been held in June on Father’s Day weekend at De Anza College in Cupertino, CA. This show attracts hundreds of cars! See our Events section on the website for details.
What kinds of events does the club do?
VMOA has a variety of events from picnics to Garage Tours to car shows! Occasionally there are spur-of-the-moment Donut and Coffee meetings over the weekend too. Sometimes we have speakers come to the monthly meetings with a topic of general interest to the members. Driving tours to various places nearby some with overnights are also popular. Got an idea? Tell the Board, and if you like, you can volunteer to organize the event.
How much does it cost to join? Cost to renew?
To join: $45 ($35 dues + $10 new member packet)
To renew: $35
NOTE: From June 18 - Dec 31, the cost to join during the second half of the year is $27.50 and to renew is $17.50
Dues are paid annually and renew on January 1st.
What methods of payment are accepted?

V.M.O.A
P. O. Box 5772
San Jose, CA 95150

What if I join half way through the year, do I still pay the full year’s dues?
No. If you join as a first time member between June 18 - Dec 31, it costs $27.50.
Renewal fees from June 18 - Dec 31 are $17.50.
When January rolls around, you can pay your dues at the beginning of the year for the whole year.
When are dues due?
January 1st. Usually people pay at the first meeting of the year if they are able to attend or mail their check in January. Renewal fees can be paid using PayPal on the VMOA website too. In the future, new membership dues will also be paid this way.
Is there a newsletter?
Yes! Included in your membership dues is a monthly newsletter called “The Pony Express”. The newsletter can be emailed to you in PDF format. To reduce printing costs we prefer to email the newsletter but a black and white printed version can be mailed if you prefer.
Can I bring my mustang to the meetings?
Yes! We encourage members and visitors to bring their mustangs. During the meeting break time, people usually end up out in the parking lot looking at the cars and talking about the latest news related to their car-related projects. When you drive off the parking lot, we ask you to do so quietly and not to race down the street.
What is the format of the club meetings?
Meetings start at 7:30pm at Sunnyvale Ford
There are times set aside for things like:
- Greetings to visitors and guests
- Old club business
- New club business
- Events
- Break Time: (Buy raffle tickets, have a snack, meet new friends, go see the cars, sign up for events)
- Tech Talk: Mustang-related questions & answers
- Buy/Sell/Swap: announce what you have to sell, swap or are looking to buy
- Raffle
- End of meeting - Put away the chairs, pack up and go
- Usually there is an after-meeting gathering at a local restaurant to continue socializing. During the Break or before, be sure to let one of the officers know that you are interested in attending so enough chairs and tables will be reserved.
